PLEASE NOTE: The Frankfurt Book Fair recommends the use of public transport. That way you act environmentally friendly and you will not be caught up in traffic jams.

Getting to the fair by car

Low emission zone in Frankfurt
The fair ground is located conveniently close to the Autobahn. However, if you are planning to drive your car into Frankfurt's city centre, make sure you order the necessary environmental sticker in good time.

Parking places are available close to the exhibition site.

Car park Rebstock area
Visitors to the Frankfurt Book Fair travelling by car have a car park at their disposal on the Rebstock area, which is directly accessible from the motorway (exit Frankfurt/West; address: Am Römerhof). Find further information here as from April 2012.

You may travel from Amsterdam or Zurich directly to Frankfurt by using ICE.

  • 2nd class: 179,- €
  • 1st class: 289,-€

You may travel from Brussels directly to Frankfurt by using ICE.

  • 2nd class: 149,-€
  • 1st class: 229,-€

The tickets are valid from 8th to 16th October 2012.

Booking Instructions

All conditions at a glance:

  • Changes and reimbursement before the first day of validity are Euro 15 excluded from the first day of validity onwards. Passengers restrict themselves to a particular train and travel times. For a supplement of €20 in 2nd class resp. €20 in 1st class full flexible tickets are also available
  • The booking line is available from Monday to Saturday 8am - 9pm. Calls will be charged at € 0.14 per minute, the expenses from cell phones max. €0.42 per min. Participants have to pay for themselves by credit card or debit note.
  • Prizes are subject to change. No responsibility is taken for the correctness of the details provided.

From Frankfurt Airport

Lufthansa Flugzeug C Gerd Rebenich

The S-Bahn fast train services S8 and S9 (direction "Hanau") run at frequent intervals, taking you from the airport to Frankfurt's Main Station in about 10 minutes.

During the Book Fair there will operate a shuttle bus service from Frankfurt Airport Terminal 1 (arrival level, bus platform 1 near first pedestrian crossing) via Terminal 2 (exit E) to the exhibition site (Galleria Entrance and to the Entrance Hall 3 East side) and vice versa.

From Frankfurt-Hahn Airport

Frankfurt-Hahn Airport is situated approx. 120 km from Frankfurt city centre. A bus transfer is provided by Bohr Omnibus GmbH, taking 1 hour and 45 minutes one way and cost 12 euros per person (2009). The bus leaves directly in front of the terminal building and arrives at the south side of Frankfurt's Main Station ("Hauptbahnhof").

From the main station

Whether you come by urban railway, tube, tram or on foot.
Here you find your way from the central station to the fair.

With public transport:
The S-Bahn will take you right to the centre of the exhibition site - to the "Messe" station where you enter via the "Torhaus" entrance.

  • S4 direction Kronberg
  • S5 direction Friedrichsdorf
  • S6 direction Friedberg

The underground (U4) will take you to the "City" entrance station in less than 5 minutes (direction "Bockenheimer Warte"). You can also take trams 16 and 17 to the exhibition site.

On foot:
You need about 10 minutes to walk from the north side of Frankfurt Main Station to the exhibition site. Take "Düsseldorfer Straße" to reach "Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage" and just head for the "Messeturm" there.
