Customer-Built Stands

Would you like to have an individual stand installed by your own exhibition stand contractor? That's easy - just order the stand option Empty floor space / Own stand. Please observe our technical requirements regarding quality of materials, types of ceilings, and stand dimensions.

IMPORTANT: Every custom-built stand must be authorised by us. Authorisation of stand plans is valid only for the specified locations and must be applied for each year anew.

Stand measurements: All exhibitors’ own stands must include 5 cm tolerance in their dimensions. This means the dimensions of the stand plans and structures must be 5 cm shorter than the absolute dimensions indicated on the plans supplied by the event organiser.
Maximum stand height (including floors, platforms, decorative elements and advertising): Halls 4.1, 4.2 and 6.1: max. 4 m; Halls 3.0, 3.1, 4.0, 5.0, 5.1 and 8.0: max. 5 m.
If the height of a stand exceeds 2.5 m where it directly abuts on neighbouring stands, the sides and back panels must be kept uniformly white, and the holders of the neighbouring stands should be informed, in order to allow a mutual agreement.
Stand designs that are higher than 4 m will incur additional costs.
Stand numbers: For self-built stands, exhibitors are obliged to produce their own stand numbering and attach these to their stands, or to use an alternative means of indicating the stand numbers.

Please send us the following documents for approval until 1 August 2011
Authorisation is only valid for one year and the specific designated location and a new application must be submitted every year.

Stand plans, if necessary with detailed drawings (floor layout, cross-section and views), in which exterior dimensions and height measurements are clearly shown.
Special permit applications for early stand set-up and breakdown extension times (only available to exhibitors with custom-built stands larger than 40 sqm, see price list).

Stand plans for telephone and electricity connections should be sent direct to the relevant service providers.

Stand building permission

Stand building permission (static safety) for stands that are more than four metres high.
The exhibitor is responsible for the static safety of the stand. If the stand is more than four metres high it might be necessary for Messe Frankfurt to carry out an inspection and give approval. This could lead to costs incurred, which would be payable by the exhibitor or stand fitters. Such costs are separate from the fees for over-height stands, which are charged according to our price list (see the registration pack).
