Offices abroad - Book Information Centres and German Book Offices
Our experts provide a link between the professional interests of the international book industry in our partner countries and the German book market.
With funding from the Federal Foreign Office, the Frankfurt Book Fair operates information offices in important and interesting foreign markets.
The Book Information Centres in Moscow, Beijing and Bucharest and and the German Book Offices (GBO) in New York and New Delhi apply indepth knowledge and commitment to the promotion of exchange between the German book market and that of their respective host country.
In their balancing act between culture and commerce, the Book Information Centres and the German Book Offices operate in the challenging arena between both clear representation of interests and the fulfilment of a cultural and political mission.
With a wide range of activities, the Book Information Centres and the German Book Offices encourage existing interest in German books and in so doing, promote rights & licence sales and book exports:
- book exhibitions
- rights offers
- post-entry careers training programmes (e.g. seminars for publishers and booksellers)
- participation in cultural events
- professional contact trips and exchange programmes
- contacts with opinion-influentials
Detailed information on the work of the various Book Information Centres and German Book Offices is available to you on the offices’ websites which you can access in German and in the language of the respective host country.
