Iceland at the Fair

Pavillon Island Ehrengast 2011

"The presentation of the Guest of Honour Iceland was the best in a long time"
This was a statement made by the newspaper "Frankfurter Rundschau". The Iceland-Pavilion at the fair faced an attendance record. Huge screens showed Icelanders reading from their favourite books and a multimedia-box introduced visitors to the fascinating nature of the island. Around 40 Icelandic authors presented their titles in the fully occupied hall of the Iceland-Pavilion and at other places of the fairground. The Icelandic sitting-room invited to take a break from the hectic of the halls and to browse through one of the 916 books of the exhibition Books On Iceland. Everybody gathered here - to read, to relax and to taste the Iceland Special - Brennevín during the daily happy hour. The Iceland-Pavilion was THE place to be!
