The book industry's sales turnover rose in 2007 by 3.4% to reach 9.6 billion euros. The rising trend was already apparent in the previous years, with the industry registering increases since 2004. (2004: 0.1%; 2005: 0.9%; 2006: 1.1%). Publishing companies have been able to increase their sales by 2.6%.
